About Somnatek Sleep Health Center

Somnatek Sleep Health Center was established in 2006 as an independent diagnostic sleep medicine facility serving Harrow County and the surrounding region. The clinic operated under the medical directorship of Dr. Mara Ellison and maintained accreditation through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for the duration of its clinical operations.

The clinic offered comprehensive in-lab and home-based diagnostic services for patients presenting with suspected sleep-disordered breathing, insomnia, hypersomnia, parasomnias, and circadian rhythm disorders. Somnatek also served as a regional partner site for longitudinal sleep research conducted in collaboration with Wexler University from 2008 onward.

Clinic History

Somnatek Sleep Health Center opened in March 2006 following state licensing approval. The clinic began accepting diagnostic referrals in April 2006 and reached full operational capacity by late 2006.

In 2008, Somnatek entered a formal research partnership with the Wexler University Department of Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. This partnership supported a longitudinal sleep recall study that ran from 2008 through 2013. The study concluded per protocol.

In 2013, the clinic initiated an administrative review of operational sustainability. Following that review, a decision was made to close clinical operations. The clinic provided 90 days advance notice to active patients and coordinated records transfer to Dorsal Health Holdings LLC prior to closure.

Clinical operations ceased on September 18, 2014.

Note regarding research participation: Former participants in the Wexler University longitudinal sleep recall study conducted at Somnatek should direct records inquiries to Dorsal Health Holdings LLC. Study participation records are subject to standard research retention requirements and are maintained accordingly.
